Zhejiang Kingsun Eco-Pacl Ltd., a Chinese manufacturer specializing in biodegradable paper tableware, has announced plans to open its first U.S. production facility in Robbinsville, North Carolina. Kingsun will repurpose a former furniture manufacturing building, which ceased operations in 2014 and has been vacant since 2020. The facility will produce a full range of disposable tableware, including biodegradable dishware, bowls, and plates, and will feature a showroom. Kingsun utilizes wood pulp and recycled cardboard for its products, aligning with the region's history of wood-based manufacturing. Founded in 2008, Kingsun operates 32 production lines with an annual output of 75,000 tons of disposable paper tableware, distributed from three Chinese regions.
