What's Happening?
The World Bank has been actively supporting Afghanistan's development through various approaches since the events of August 2021. Approach 3.0, endorsed in February 2024, involves providing grants from the International Development Association (IDA) to United Nations agencies and other public international organizations. These funds aim to support basic services nationwide, particularly benefiting women, while remaining outside the control of the Interim Taliban Administration. The World Bank coordinates with international partners to deliver health, education, and livelihood services, focusing on employment opportunities and microfinance.
