FL Technics Indonesia is set to significantly expand its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations in Jakarta. The company plans to invest approximately €50 million ($58 million) to increase its facility size from 16,000 square meters to 45,000 square meters. This expansion will include the addition of a six-bay hangar, two painting bays, an engine shop, and a wheels and brakes shop. The expansion is driven by increasing demand for MRO services in Southeast Asia, where airlines from the Middle East, India, and across Asia are seeking longer maintenance visits due to their substantial fleets. The Jakarta facility, which opened in 2016, currently accommodates 8-10 narrowbody aircraft simultaneously and employs around 500 staff. The expansion is expected to create an additional 400 jobs.
