What's Happening?
The East Alabama Rural Innovation and Training Hub (EARTH) has secured $7 million in New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) funding from UB Community Development, LLC. This funding will be used to renovate a 125,000-square-foot facility in Sylacauga, Alabama, to house the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement's (SAFE) offices, small business incubation space, and a performing arts and community events area. The project aims to serve 11,000 individuals annually and create 350 direct jobs, focusing on sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, transportation, manufacturing, technology, and more.
