Georgia's leading aerospace companies have announced the formation of the Georgia Aerospace & Defense Alliance (GADA), a new statewide organization aimed at advancing the state's aerospace and defense industries. The alliance, launched by Gulfstream Aerospace, Lockheed Martin, Rolls-Royce, FlightSafety International, and Pratt & Whitney, will be housed at Mercer University in Macon. Ember Bishop Bentley will serve as executive director, while Jay Neely will be the initial board chairman. Aerospace is Georgia's second-largest industry, contributing over $57.5 billion annually and employing approximately 200,000 people. The alliance aims to sustain the industry through advocacy, workforce development, and industrial collaboration.
