A group of Nigerian miners has accused a Chinese mining company of abandoning them in the Central African Republic (CAR). The Nigerian general manager of the company, Ademola Aregbe, reportedly returned to Nigeria and is no longer concerned about their welfare. The miners are currently stranded in Senye, a village in the Bambari region, with their passports seized by a local partner of the company, making it difficult for them to travel. The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) is working to facilitate their evacuation and return to Nigeria.
