EnergyCo has introduced the Agrivoltaics Handbook, a new guide designed to help landowners and solar developers combine agricultural practices with solar energy production. The handbook, developed by Farm Renewables Consulting and Progressive Agriculture with EnergyCo's support, provides comprehensive guidelines for integrating farming activities such as grazing and crop cultivation within solar farms. It also includes checklists for planning agrisolar developments. The handbook is part of EnergyCo's efforts to work with regional communities in Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) to modernize the electricity grid in New South Wales (NSW). Five REZ zones have been identified, including the Hunter-Central Coast, to ensure reliable electricity as coal-fired power stations retire.
