What's Happening?
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development is actively working to ensure the smooth supply and distribution of chemical fertilizers in response to potential shortages during the farming season. Currently, there are 28,824 metric tons of chemical fertilizers in stock, with an additional 140,504 metric tons in transit. These supplies are being distributed through Salt Trading Corporation and Agriculture Inputs Company Limited. The Ministry has emphasized its commitment to managing fertilizer distribution effectively during this critical agricultural period. The government has set a target of managing 600,000 metric tons of fertilizers for the current fiscal year, supported by a budget allocation of Rs 28.82 billion.
