L3Harris Technologies has inaugurated a new rocket motor parts manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama. The Advanced Manufacturing Facility – South (AMF-South) is designed to increase production capacity for solid rocket motors, covering an area of approximately 379,000 square feet. This expansion follows L3Harris's acquisition of Aerojet Rocketdyne and a $20 million investment, supplemented by additional funding from a Defense Production Act agreement. The facility is already producing parts for the Standard Missile, Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System, and Javelin antitank weapon, with plans to expand production to other programs. The company aims to hire an additional hundred employees in the coming years, adding to the 40 already employed.
