What's Happening?
Nigeria has inaugurated a new Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) in Oyo State, aimed at enhancing agricultural transformation, job creation, and rural industrialization. The ceremony was attended by notable figures including Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank Group, and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. The Oyo SAPZ is part of a national program financed by multiple international and national partners, with a $538 million investment covering seven states. The hub is expected to host up to 40 agro-processing industries, create over 100,000 jobs, and benefit half a million farmers.
