Eaton, an intelligent power management company, has announced a new solar project in Wisconsin aimed at reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy sustainability. The project, in collaboration with We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, will be located adjacent to Eaton's Thomas A. Edison Technical Center. Scheduled to be operational by early 2026, the 4-megawatt solar installation is expected to meet 30% of the annual carbon reduction goals at five Eaton sites in Wisconsin, including Franksville, South Milwaukee, Menomonee Falls, and two Waukesha facilities. This initiative is part of Eaton's broader strategy to achieve net zero operations by 2050 and follows previous energy efficiency upgrades that have already contributed to a 58% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in the state since 2018. We Energies will build, own, and operate the system, while Eaton will provide the land and receive renewable energy credits.
