Vietnam's Industrial Production Index (IIP) experienced a significant growth of 8.6% in the first seven months of 2025, as reported by the National Statistics Office. This growth was primarily driven by the manufacturing and processing sectors, which expanded by 10.3%, contributing 8.5 percentage points to the overall IIP. Electricity production and distribution also saw an increase of 4.6%, while the water supply, waste, and wastewater management sector grew by 10.4%. However, the mining sector faced a contraction of 2.7%, negatively impacting the overall index. Notable increases were observed in localities such as Huế, Quảng Ninh, and Phú Thọ, with rises of 43%, 32%, and 27% respectively. Despite these gains, some provinces like HCM City and Cao Bằng experienced slower growth due to declines in key sectors.
