The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has revised its guidelines under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), allowing non-manufacturing Indian companies to register co-branded solar modules through approved Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). This amendment modifies existing clauses to create eligibility categories for brand owners and OEMs, focusing on Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) projects under 1 MW. Non-manufacturing brand owners must be registered in India and partner with ALMM-listed OEMs, jointly guaranteeing product warranties. The validity of co-branded enlistment has been extended from two to four years, with a flat application fee of INR 1,000.
