Israel said Tuesday that it struck what it described as Iran’s central leadership compound in Tehran, calling it the “regime's most central and significant

headquarters.” The Israel Defense Forces said the Israeli Air Force carried out the overnight operation Monday based on what it called precise intelligence. \"Overnight (Monday), the Israeli Air Force, acting on precise intelligence, struck and dismantled facilities within the leadership compound of the Iranian terrorist regime in the heart of Tehran,\" the IDF said in a statement. According to the Israeli military, numerous munitions were dropped on the Presidential Office and the building of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

\nIran has vowed retaliation following the killing of Khamenei and other senior figures. On Tuesday, Iran struck the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh with a drone, causing a fire and what Saudi Arabia described as “minor damage.” The U.S. Embassy in Kuwait was also hit and temporarily closed.\n
