Venezuela’? Allow us to explain… The reason why US President Donald Trump is tending on social media today, January 12, is because of his latest Truth Social post. Taking his Truth Social handle, Trump recently declared himself as the “Acting President of Venezuela”. The post had a screenshot of his Wikipedia page, possibly edited, which read his designation as “Acting President of Venezuela”, right below his name, along with “Incumbent January 2026”. The ‘page’ also highlighted him as the 45th and 47th President of the United States. The page further mentioned that he assumed office on January 20, 2025. The post came soon after the US-Venezuela tensions errupted, as the US had carried out a “large-scale\" strike against Venezuela, capturing the country’s leader, Nicolas Maduro, earlier this month. Maduro, reportedly, was flown to New York, where he and his wife were indicted on narco-terrorism conspiracy charges. Coming back to the post, it was shared today, and pulled more than 18K reactions.
