As 2026 begins, many carmakers in India have revised their prices and Volkswagen India is among them. The German brand has announced a price hike for its

popular compact SUV, the Volkswagen Taigun. Volkswagen has increased the prices of almost all Taigun variants by Rs 4,000. The only exception is the entry-level Comfortline MT, which remains unchanged. In fact, the base variant now costs Rs 10.58 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it around Rs 84,000 more affordable. \nThe Taigun is offered with two petrol engine options, both of which uses Volkswagen’s turbocharged TSI technology.\n

The 1.0-litre TSI engine produces 115 PS of power and 178 Nm of torque. It is available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic (torque converter).
The more powerful 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine delivers 150 PS and 250 Nm, which makes it one of the strongest in the segment. It comes with a 6-speed manual or a sporty 7-speed DSG automatic.
Mileage is rated at around 18–20 kmpl, which is decent for a petrol SUV with strong performance.
