\n Sushmita, who won Femina Miss India at 18 and represented India at Miss Universe 1994, has never shied away from sharing personal struggles. After 3 years of her attack, she is now focused on her health. Speaking in an old interview with NDTV about her heart attack in 2023, she said it “was meant to happen” and acknowledged that fitness cannot always prevent genetic conditions. “Both my parents have heart issues. That I survived and healed quickly is a huge blessing,” she added.

3 Years After Sushmita Sen’s Heart Attack Surgery

Sushmita explained that her fitness journey after the heart attack has been gradual. Starting with warm-ups, stretches, and light floor exercises, she has now incorporated weight training. She avoids running but is allowed to pace walk, ensuring all movements are dynamic. “You must listen to your body and what it allows on a given day,” she emphasized.

On the work front, Sushmita was last seen in Aarya 3, nominated for the International Emmy Awards for Best Drama Series. She filmed intense action scenes just a month after her heart attack and described the experience as “cathartic” and a “whole new beginning” both personally and professionally.
