In Bengaluru, two men allegedly posing as Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) officials and cheated multiple job seeking candidates out of Rs 50 lakh by promising them jobs. The accused reportedly used fake

ID cards and even met the victims in a hotel to make their fraud appear legitimate.

According to the complaint, the accused, identified as N. Krishnan and Nagaraj, handed out fake appointment letters and assured victims they would secure positions at KMF in exchange for large sums of money. Payments were collected through RTGS and cash between late 2022 and December 2023.\n

Police suspect the duo may have defrauded dozens more. Both accused currently have their mobile phones switched off, and authorities have launched an operation to apprehend them. The full scale of the scam will be clearer after arrests.

How Did The Job Fraud Take Place?

The accused approached complainant Karigowda S. Patil at a hotel on Sampige Road in late 2022, referencing a newspaper advertisement for 487 KMF posts. They promised appointment letters within three months for Rs 10 lakh per post, convincing Karigowda and others, including relatives, to pay.

After receiving the money, Krishnan and Nagaraj made excuses, sent a fake email about an interview in Mysore, and later demanded additional payments following a government change.

In 2024, the complainant began to suspect the fraud. Repeated delays and unfulfilled promises led to an official complaint after the accused’s phones went offline, prompting police action.

A senior officer said, “The accused claimed they would return the money but kept postponing. Police are now working to arrest them, and the investigation will reveal the full extent of the scam.”
