Sikandar Raza entered his name in the history books on Sunday (March 1) by becoming the second player in the world to score a half-century and take three wickets in an ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match. In

Zimbabwe’s third and final Super 8s match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, Raza played a knock of 73 runs from 43 balls against South Africa at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi and then picked up three wickets for 29 runs in his quota of four overs.

Shane Watson of Australia was the first player in the world to score 50 and take three wickets in a T20 World Cup match. Watson picked up 3 wickets for 34 runs in four overs and then scored 72 runs from 42 balls against India in the 2012 T20 World Cup match played at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium on September 28.

Raza walked out to bat at No. 4 for Zimbabwe in Delhi on Sunday and hammered 8 fours and 4 sixes during his stay at the crease. He added 38 runs from 23 balls for the third wicket and 39 runs from 29 balls for the sixth wicket with Clive Madande.

Sikandar’s super show with the ball helped Zimbabwe post a fighting total of 153/7 in 20 overs.

In the second half, Raza opened the bowling attack for Zimbabwe and picked up Quinton de Kock’s wicket on the third ball of the run chase. De Kock, who is South Africa’s highest run scorer in T20Is, was caught by wicketkeeper Tadiwanashe Marumani for a two-ball duck.

On the fifth ball of his second over, Raza then picked up Aiden Markram’s wicket. Markram, who is South Africa’s highest run-getter in the T20 World Cup 2026, was clean bowled by Raza after adding 4 runs from 5 balls to the Proteas’ total.

Raza picked up his third and final wicket of the match on the fourth ball of the 11th over. Dewald Brevis, in an attempt to play a big shot, was caught by Ryan Burl.
