Because despite it being four years since he helped Angela Burr (Olivia Colman) pull off the near-impossible task of putting Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie) behind bars, Pine continues to live under the shadow of his past.

That is precisely why, when he spots Jaco (Gijs Naber) while working surveillance at Night Owl, where he is now employed, something clicks. Pine is compelled to dig deeper.
