While the exact battery capacity hasn't been officially disclosed, it's anticipated to feature a substantial 108.7kWh pack, comparable to the iX3. This powertrain enables an astonishing WLTP-certified range of 900 kilometers on a single charge. Furthermore, the vehicle supports ultra-fast 400kW DC charging, capable of adding approximately 400 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes, alongside 22kW AC charging for convenient home or public charging.

Production of this innovative electric sedan is slated to commence at BMW's Munich plant in August 2026. Following the start of manufacturing, global deliveries are expected to begin later in the same year. For the Indian market, the iX3 is anticipated to be introduced first by early 2027. The prospect of the i3 sedan also being launched in India remains to be seen, depending on market reception and strategic decisions by the manufacturer.
