New Delhi: Amid the escalating tensions in West Asia, there has been a shortage of LPG supplies in many parts of the country. Reports of LPG cylinder shortages

and black marketing have been emerging from some areas across the country. However, in a huge sigh of relief, LPG refill bookings have reduced to about 77 lakh from 88.8 lakh earlier, indicating some easing of panic buying. The government has been repeatedly saying that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel or cooking gas, and supplies remain stable despite the US-Israel and Iran war.

The government said that all domestic “refineries are operating at high capacity and maintaining adequate crude oil inventories.” “The country remains self-sufficient in the production of petrol and diesel, requiring no imports of the fuels to meet domestic demand,” the update added
