New Delhi: The Nissan Gravite has been launched in India with a starting price of Rs 5.65 lakh for the first 1,001 customers. It is a compact MPV and shares

its base platform and overall structure with the Renault Triber. Bookings for the new model are now open across dealerships.

The Gravite is essentially Nissan’s version of the Triber, but with several visual changes and a few feature differences. It will be sold with both manual and AMT gearbox options, and a CNG kit will also be introduced later in a dealer-fit format.\n

While the Gravite is based on the Triber, it gets several cosmetic updates. The headlights feature a different daytime running light (DRL) pattern. It also gets new alloy wheel designs, revised front and rear bumpers with C-shaped silver inserts, and a honeycomb-style front grille.

The model carries ‘GRAVITE’ lettering on both the bonnet and tailgate. Nissan is offering it in five colours: Forest Green, Onyx Black, Blade Silver, Snow White and Metallic Grey.

Interior and features

Inside, the layout remains similar to the Triber, including the 5+2 seating arrangement. However, the Gravite has a different colour theme and some unique trim elements. The dashboard design is simple and practical, with a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and rotary knobs for climate control.

Higher variants get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital instrument display. Other features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, push-button start/stop, cruise control, automatic LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and rear AC vents.

Safety equipment includes six airbags, parking sensors, a reverse camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system. The car also offers automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, a wireless charging pad and a cooled glovebox.

There is also a limited launch edition of 1,001 units. This version adds a JBL sound system, a dual-channel dashcam and ambient lighting.

Engine and gearbox

The Gravite uses a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 72hp and 96Nm. It is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.

Nissan claims a fuel efficiency of 19.3kpl for the manual version and 19.6kpl for the AMT. A dealer-installed dual-cylinder CNG kit will be offered soon, but only with the manual transmission.

Warranty and ownership benefits

Nissan is offering the Gravite with a standard warranty of three years or 1,00,000km. Buyers can extend this coverage up to 10 years or 5,00,000km, which the company claims is the best in its segment.

The first 5,000 customers will also receive zero service costs for the first five years. Along with this, Nissan is providing finance schemes and upgrade-related benefits for early buyers.
