New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged Gen-Z to play a direct role in shaping a developed India and assuring them that the government

stands firmly with them. The PM was addressing the ‘Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue’ Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

PM Modi said the success of the youth elevates the nation and that he draws energy from their enthusiasm. “The spirit of ‘nation first’ should be ingrained in the youth. The capability of young people will become the capability of India,” he said.

Noting that the day marked the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the Prime Minister said his ideas continue to inspire young people even today. He said Vivekananda’s life remains a guiding force in teaching how to live with a ‘nation first’ mindset and ensure that every effort contributes to the welfare of society and the country.

\n\n

Modi said he was pleased that the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue had, in a short span of time, emerged as a major platform enabling the direct participation of youth in determining the country’s development trajectory.

Calling it unprecedented, he said millions of young people were engaging with the initiative and sharing ideas for national development. “I have faith in the youth of this country and in your potential. That is why we chose a different path,” he said.

The Prime Minister said the government had rolled out a series of new schemes with youth at the centre, which helped India’s startup revolution gain real momentum. He urged India’s Gen-Z not to hesitate in taking risks, assuring them that the government would support their efforts.
