disturbance, the Indian Meteorological Department said. However, Delhi may not get relief from the scorching heat anytime soon as the maximum temperatures are likely to hover around 34 to 36 degrees Celsius.

The weather department has forecast heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh till March 14 and in Assam and Meghalaya from March 13 to 15. Heavy rainfall and snowfall are also predicted in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. The MeT office also said that a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from March 14.

For Delhi, the IMD said that the maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are likely to be in the range of 34 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius to 18 degrees Celsius, respectively. The weather department has predicted a partly cloudy sky in the national capital on March 14.

Meanwhile, heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are predicted in Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka for today.

The weather office said that there will be no significant change in maximum temperatures over Central India during the next three days.

According to the IMD, rain is likely to lash Punjab, Haryana from March 14 to 16; Uttar Pradesh on March 15 and 16 and, Rajasthan on March 14 and 15.

Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is expected over Northeast India till March 17. Assam and Meghalaya may witness rainfall from March 13 to 15. Heavy rainfall is likely in Arunachal Pradesh from March 12 to 14. The IMD has also forecast light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in Telangana on March 15.

Rainfall is also predicted in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha this week.
