most replayed moments. Host Nikki Glaser didn’t shy away from roasting Leonardo DiCaprio over his much-discussed dating history, and the actor’s calm, amused response only made the joke land harder.

Taking the stage at the Beverly Hilton on January 11, Glaser opened her monologue by praising DiCaprio’s decades-long career.

She called his nominated performance in One Battle After Another “insane, so vaping good,” before listing his achievements. Then came the line everyone expected. “And the most impressive thing,” she said, “is that you were able to accomplish all of that before your girlfriend turned 30. I mean, it’s just insane.”

DiCaprio, 51, laughed, nodded and gave a thumbs-up from his seat, clearly unfazed. The moment drew loud laughter inside the room and instant reactions online. His girlfriend, model Vittoria Ceretti, was not present at the ceremony.

Glaser followed up with a mock apology that kept the tone playful rather than cruel. “Leo, I’m sorry I made that joke, it’s cheap, I tried not to,” she said. “But we don’t know anything else about you, man. There’s nothing else. I searched. The most in-depth interview you’ve ever given was in Teen Beat in 1991.” When she asked if his favourite food was still “pasta, pasta and more pasta,” DiCaprio mouthed “yeah” and smiled, earning another round of laughs.

The host didn’t stop there. She turned her attention to Timothée Chalamet, nominated for Marty Supreme. Praising his dedication, she joked, “He’s the first actor in history to put on muscle for a movie about ping pong.” The camera quickly cut to Chalamet, who laughed along, later winning Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy.

Glaser also managed a rare successful jab involving Julia Roberts, quipping that she “should not be allowed to be this close to Julia Roberts.” The star flashed her trademark smile, keeping the mood light.

Speaking ahead of the ceremony, Glaser explained her approach to CBS Mornings. “You have to be very delicate about making jokes that aren’t going to ruin anyone’s night,” she said. “But you also want to give the people at home something to laugh at.”
