Suryakumar Yadav played a crucial role for India in the 2024 T20 World Cup triumph; especially by taking spectacular catch in the final of 2024 T20 World Cup, engraving India's name on the trophy. In 2026, he lifted the trophy as captain of Indian team. He played a crucial role not just as a captain but also as a batter in the first game against United States of America in first match of Group Stages at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
