\n Car pooling app for the residents and allotment of ₹2,700 crore for ten years to MCD, are among the measures that have been announced by the Delhi government on Wednesday, December 17, as air quality in the national capital keeps on deteriorating.\n

\n Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced the measures in order to curb the rising air pollution in the city, with Air Quality Index (AQI) levels remaining in the severe category for last few days continuously.\n
\n
\n Sirsa said that the Delhi government will give ₹2,700 crore for a period of 10 years to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for procurement of mechanical road sweepers, and litter pickers, as per news agency PTI.\n
\n
\n The Minister said that the government will develop a car pooling app to encourage Delhiites to participate in the actions towards mitigating the Delhi air pollution crisis.\n
\n
\n Sirsa further stated that the PUCC system of the vehicles will undergo an overhaul with the government planning to bring in third party monitoring system.\n
\n
\n He added that the government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Madras to identify smog-eating surfaces.\n

\n Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is also going to flag off 100 electronic buses (e-buses) in the capital on Thursday, December 18.\n
