Tarun Garg, MD and CEO Designate, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, on Thursday (December 18) outlined the company’s growing focus on accessibility and inclusive

mobility. Speaking at INDIA ECONOMIC CONCLAVE 2025, he said that Hyundai began its accessibility journey with swivel seats after identifying a clear need among customers. He said that Hyundai has plans to introduce an assistive device in its cars which will help drivers with both acceleration and braking. \"We started with the swivel seats because we saw that this was a very clear requirement. There is a lot of demand coming in where people want to drive very soon... as early as the next quarter we are going to have an assistive device which will help people to accelerate the car as well as braking solutions,\" he said. Highlighting the role of technology in cars, Garg said that the right use of technology can remove barriers by simplifying access. Technology can make driving easier for those with limited mobility. He said that Hyundai's CCNC screen is truly assistive for somebody with disabilities. For example, when we say \"khul ja sim sim\" today, that opens the sunroof. He said that there should be \"no barrier for people with disabilities when we are talking about solutions\". VIDEO

\"In fact, we want to move beyond cars. For example, our website is accessible to people with some limitations, they can also access the website. Our dealerships are wheelchair enabled. The most important thing is that we want everybody in India to become a part of this moment and I am so happy that over the past three years we have seen so many companies joining this and making India more accessible,\" he said. “In fact, we want to move beyond just cars. Tarun Garg On Exports Tarun Garg also said that India has potential to emerge as a major export hub across sectors. \"We have to be very strong in the domestic market, but exports gives us the precious foreign exchange. Exports also give us a lot of like an international stamp about quality, the might of India, the power of India. We have always taken exports very seriously. We are the number 1 cumulative exporter from India. Also, we are going to be the largest hub for Hyundai outside of Korea and hub for emerging markets. So we are now not only exporting cars, but also we have a good strong R&D center in Hyderabad,\" he said.\n
\n\"We are going forward and developing cars in terms of not only for India, but for the emerging markets, Middle East, Africa, Latin America. Currently, 21% of our production goes for exports,\" Garg added.\n
